Bordeaux Blend
2009 Bastille
2006, 2007 Silver Medal Winner‘Bastille’ is our signature Bordeaux-style blend. The 2009 is inspired by the wines of the right bank vineyards and wineries of the Gironde River in Bordeaux, where Merlot dominates the blends.
“Chocolate undertones and spiciness that carries the finish. The 09 Bastille is vibrant from beginning to end with great length, 93 points.”
- Scott Clemens, Editor and Publisher, Epicurean-Traveler.com

Tasting Notes
The 2009 Bastille is in some ways more ‘New World’ than prior vintages, with light tannins and plenty of up-front dark Bordeaux fruits on the palate, but the fruit is balanced with light mineral character, cloves, and cocoa. Setting this year's Bastille apart are the floral aromatics, reminiscent of daiginjo sake. The finish is long and smooth, compelling another sip.
